On Monday December 23, 2013, a little dog in labor arrived to the Aurora Animal Shelter in Colorado (USA). After a thorough examination the vets realized that the puppy inside was much too big to be born without an emergency c-section.
Veterinarian Nicole Bartley said that it was evident the puppy had been truck for quite a while; there was an infection and little hope for him. She said however that in all cases, they always attempt to spare puppies and kittens when they can and so the technicians did the best they could to save the little guy but in vain; he never inhaled nor moved. Accepting the puppy was stillborn the veterinarians moved their focus again to the mother to insure she would make it out of her surgery safely. Moments after the mother canine came out of her emergency c-section however, a real miracle happened.
“We were simply beginning to wake the mother puppy up from anesthesia (45 minutes after the fact) when we heard a sound from inside the cover where the puppy had been wrapped,” said Bartlett. “It was alive! Crying for its mom!”
The veterinarians were stunned that the pup could be alive after that much time. So the only name they could consider for this lucky puppy was Miracle. Miracle and her mom are now safe and sound under foster care, awaiting for their forever home!
