Did you know that camel babies are born without a hump? And contrary to popular belief, the purpose of the hump is not to store water but fatty tissue. Since camels, just like most mammals, do need fat as an energy source but live in an extremely hot climate, concentrating all the fat in the hump minimizes insulation on the rest of the body, thus allowing the camel to more easily dissipate heat. In a nutshell, the humps acts as a sort of fuel tank! We hope you enjoy this great jigsaw puzzle of a beautiful relaxing camel.
