If you’ve ever wondered should I adopt a cat and decided ‘no’ then the infographic below is for you…if you’ve ever wondered should I adopt a cat and decided ‘yes’ then the infographic below is also for you!
Adopting (and neutering!) a cat is very important as there are sadly an increasing number of stray cats with no homes to go to, so if you have adopted I take my proverbial (cat hair covered) hat off to you and thank you from the bottom of my heart.
However as well as feline adoption being great for the cat it is also very good for you too!
There are so many benefits to cat ownership that there wouldn’t be an infographic long enough to fit them all in so instead we have cherry picked the ten great reasons below. My personal favourite is that cats help you heal (madness right – but it’s true!), what is yours?

I grew up with cats. At one point not so long ago I had four. And then I developed horrible allergies. Luckily my ex was super happy to keep them all when we split so no trauma there for anyone. But I miss having a cat. DOn’t miss the litter mind you. So … I got a cat like dog instead.
I am just loving this infographoc and your 10 reasons why! Cats are the coolest by far! I love dogs too of course but I love seeing someone promote cat adoption! Thank you!
I wish my dog would let me have a cat, she’s not a fan though but I love these reasons for adopting them! Adopt, don’t shop!
When I lived in Israel I had 3 cats and miss those days as there is something really rewarding about having them but today I have my dog Layla and she is at this time in my life is good for me
My first cat was a stray. She taught me to love cats and changed my life. Now I have three rescued cats and we’re fostering a fourth. Cats rock!
I grew up with dogs and didn’t have my first cat until I was in my 20s. I’ve now been owned by cats for the past 40 years and haven’t regretted a day of it. I know they are good for me, both emotionally and physically.
Although I think dogs will always be my first choice, I know that cats make great companions too. I never wanted a cat until I met a little stray that hung around the yard. He’s been living in our house for the last 15 years.
SHARING! I I’ve been lucky enough to have the companionship of cats, my entire life. I also volunteer for a local shelter and a rescue organization and know how many are without homes. Thank you for this post!
We have a cat but we also have a dog who thinks she’s a cat! Very cute info-graphic and agree with all the points.
Great infographic! I have always believed adopting cats and giving them second chances.
Sorry but I have to vehemently disagree with the infographic where it says cats can be left at home alone for the weekend. No, no, no! All kinds of bad things can happen even if they are indoors. It’s just irresponsible to go off and leave them to fend for themselves.
