A little over a month ago, Eve had a special spa day with PetSmart® grooming. Now she is ready to be a regular customer! We had previously gone to PetSmart for quick nail trims, but I normally did baths at home. Considering how easy and affordable PetSmart grooming was, coupled with the excellent result that were much better than I can get doing baths myself, Eve will be getting regular spa days over home baths. Plus, being the social butterfly that she is, Eve really enjoys going for grooming. The salon associates were wonderful with Eve and she loved her time with them. Here is Eve right after she was groomed. She had full service grooming with a deshedding packaged added on.
The deshedding really works! I was seriously amazed at how long Eve went without shedding after her grooming. Normally, I have to constantly vacuum my hardwood floors because Eve’s golden hair is everywhere and shows up particularly well on my dark stained floors. But after her grooming, the floors stayed hair free for weeks. Even now, she still isn’t shedding a ton. Here is Eve several weeks after her grooming. She still looks great from her salon day.
Get Groomed for the Holidays
Of course, the results won’t last forever, and we are about ready to go back. I plan to take Eve in for grooming right before the Christmas holiday. That way, she will look great for the occasion. In fact, PetSmart grooming services are perfect at this time of year because you can get your pet looking and smelling great before guests arrive. It also is perfect if you just need a quick service like a nail trim, ear cleaning, or teeth cleaning, before entertaining guests. If you ever wanted to take photos of your pet with Santa, consider getting a grooming done first. Also check to see if your store offers Santa photos. I have previously gotten photos with Santa done there. PetSmart also offers seasonal scarves and tags, like the fall theme items that I selected for Eve, so your dog can be dressed up for the occasion too!
All PetSmart salon associates acquire annual safety certification and take additional course-work in order to learn about dog anatomy, signs of stress and common pet medical conditions. The groomers that give haircuts receive an additional 400 hours of hands-on training. PetSmart salons offer a “Look Great Guarantee,” which is the promise that you will be happy with your pet’s service, or they will do whatever it takes to make it right, including offering your money back. You can book an appointment online and even choose your favorite groomer, and can get text alerts or emails notifying you when your pet is ready to be picked up..

“Grooming? What Grooming,”says Cookie. “I let the wind and the branches brush my coat and the rain or lake water wash it.”
Our guys don’t require any special grooming other than nail care, occasional trim of the fur between pads and brushing.
For those who’s dogs do require professional grooming, though, having the option of a convenient place to go it is great.

I did not know that you could take them in just for a nail trimming, or ear cleaning, great info to have. I normally am a do it yourself person, but this is good to know when you get really busy this time of year.

So beautiful! Love Eve! I am SOLD on deshedding bath treatments at our groomer. I bathe my corgis at home if they get dirty and need one badly, but mostly, I take them about every 3 months to get it done. It makes a huge difference in the amount of fur that comes off of them.
