Exotic pets are animals that can be considered rare or unusual and are kept by humans as pets, but which generally would be thought of as wild species. Certain Exotic pets are unfortunately endangered species and others are illegal to own. Here at some Pets, we do not condone owning any of these animals outside of rescue situations. Exotic pets are attractive to some because they are different and uncommon, but they really are best left in the wild. Regardless, we do like photos of cute animals here though, so and here we have the absolute cutest ones for you.
Tamandua
The Tamandua lives in Central & South America. Its diet consist mostly of ants which it eats with its enormous tongue, but in captivity it will eat fruits & meat.
Bengal Cat
The Bengal Cat it the result of crossing a regular domestic feline with an Asian leopard cat and its temperament is as gentle as a household cat.
Bush Baby
The Bush Baby is a very curious little nocturnal primate on the list of endangered species native of Africa.
Wallaby
The wallaby originates from Australia. It is a very gentle animal and although similar to a Kangaroo it is much smaller.
Squirrel Monkey
The squirrel monkey is an adorable little primate that lives in the forest of Central and South America.
Patagonian Cavy
The Patagonian Cavy lives in Argentina & Patagonia. It looks like a mixed between a dear and a rabbit! The Patagonian Cavy spends it’s entire life with the same partner!
Sugar Glider
The Sugar Glider is native of Australia, like its name suggest, it glides between tress and although it resembles the flying squirrel, they are not closely related.
Spotted Genet
The Spotted Genet can be found in the Middle East, in Europe and Spain. It is a very handsome feline looking animal that is quite popular as an exotic pet in the USA.
Slow Loris
The Slow Loris is a cute little primate that lives in Asia. It is unfortunately an endangered specie and illegal to own in the USA.
Fennec Fox
The Fennec Fox must be the cutest exotic pet on this list! It is native of the Sahara and it’s long ears serve to dissipate the heat ( and to enhance its cuteness!)

No one should have exotic pets! To be stolen from your home and your family just to be someones pet so they can show off. these animals go through hell and are kept in deplorable conditions by their abductors… mostly in Indonesia where anything from a bird to anything bigger are kept in dark warehouses in secret just to satisfy mans selfish greed. Stick to pets like cats and dogs and always from a rescue!

Jan Brown:
Some of what you have said is true, however most of it is not! I own and breed over 20 different exotic pets on my 300 acres. Including a Siberian tiger, African Lion, Jaguar and 4 Sloths! Each small animal has a habitat that is over 500′ feet of space and my big cats each have 5 acres of land that has been formed into a habitat that is as close as possible to their natural habitat.
Yes, the exotic animals are often abused, neglected by there negligent owners. Yes, SOME go through hell to reach another living hell of a dog kennel. But a owner who can provide their exotic with the type of living that is better then a zoo, more power to them.
My animals have never seen suffering in my home, I imported them on my private jet by myself. I only have one that was taken from her family, my Capybara, and only because she was missing a limb and wouldn’t survive in the wild. All my others where taken from labs. Yes, a lion used as a lab rat! If you care about these precious wild ones then work, not against those of use who respect and save these amazing animals but the ones who abuse them and keep them in dog kennels, who feed them hamburger meat, who have put no effort or study into these amazing creatures. Exotics aren’t wrong, unless they are owned by the negligent, who shouldn’t even own a gold fish. which in my opinion is most of America
