My corgi Ty has a problem with seasonal allergies that always lead to dry and itchy skin, and then it gets worse in winter. I give him fish oil in his diet, and he takes medicated baths, but until now I was at a loss on how to best moisturize his skin. Bayer® Expert Care™ Spot-On Skin Moisturizer solved that. This unique product incorporates a number of different oils to deliver essential fatty acids to help support skin hydration. It is quick and easy to apply and can help maintain your dog’s coat and support coat shine.

I originally picked up the product at PetSmart when I took Eve on a shopping trip. Bayer Expert Care items are located in the pet health care aisle. At my store it is the back aisle.

The Spot-On Skin Moisturizer is easy to use. The product comes in little ampules. Here is a closer look at one.

Simply snap open the top of one, part the dog’s coat between the shoulders, and apply it directly to the skin in one or two spots. It is recommended to apply one ampule every week for 2 months, then one every 2 weeks for as long as necessary. If your dog has a thick coated, brush the application area the day after your apply it in order to remove any residue left on the coat. Avoid bathing your pet during two days before and after application. This photo shows where to apply it. I didn’t actually open it for the photo, since juggling a dog, product, and camera all at once is tricky!

The ingredient list is pretty interesting: Bio-Diffusing Agent, Olus (Vegetable Oil), Gelling Agent, Melia Azadirachta Seed Oil, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Oil, Lavandula Hybrida Oil, Eugenia Caryophyllus (Clove) Bud Oil, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil, Cinnamomum Camphora (Camphor) Leaf Oil, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil, Cedrus Atlantica Bark Oil, Curcuma Longa Root Oil, Origanum Compactum Oil, Gaultheria Procumbens (Winter-Green) Leaf Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate, Bisabolol

Ty had no problems with me applying the Spot-on Moisturizer, and I was happy to find something to address his skin-care needs that is so quick and easy to use. Anyone looking for a way to treat their pet’s dry skin or improve their pet’s coat should take a look at Bayer Expert Care. Now Ty is ready for winter!

What a cool product! This might be just the thing my dog needs. Bentley has seemed a bit itchy lately, but I don’t see any fleas. We’ll have to givev this a try.
I’m going to have to look into this for our hounds… they get some dry skin from time to time!
Ty looks adorable in the Christmas collar. I was very curious what form the skin moisturizer was and this is just like the flea medication applicator. Great idea and review! ☺
This looks great! Will definitely have to try it!
That looks like a super easy way to moisturize your pet! We usually just use a conditioner after shampooing them but I will have to check this out! Thanks!
I thought this would be applied like lotion and not like flea meds lol. I looked for this the last time at the store and didn’t see it.
Very interesting! I should see if they have a formula for cats.
Very interesting product. Need to tell my mom about it for her dog.
This is such a smart idea, does it make your dog smell good?
